DUBAI — UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the rulers of the Emirates have offered their condolences to Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum following the death of Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The condolences were conveyed on Tuesday in Dubai, with members of the UAE’s Supreme Council and senior officials visiting Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid at Zabeel.
Among those who paid their respects were Sharjah Ruler Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Fujairah Ruler Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Umm Al Quwain Ruler Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Ras Al Khaimah Ruler Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi and Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Crown princes and other senior members of the ruling families also offered their condolences, including Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Ajman Crown Prince Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi.
A number of senior UAE officials and sheikhs were also present, including Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The leaders reflected on Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid’s contributions to the UAE and the community, particularly his service during the country’s formative years and the establishment of its institutions.
The condolences were received by senior members of the Dubai ruling family, including Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Second Deputy Ruler Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Also present were Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, alongside other members of the ruling family.
The tributes highlighted Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid’s longstanding service and contribution to the development of the UAE and its institutions.
