DUBAI, September 18, 2026 — The Dubai Media Council has signed a series of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with government and academic institutions to strengthen the media sector and develop a new generation of young content creators.

The agreements were signed on the closing day of the Arab Media Summit 2026 and were witnessed by H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council.

The partnerships bring together the Dubai Media Council, the Government of Dubai Media Office and the Dubai Press Club with institutions including the United Arab Emirates University, Dubai Municipality, the Supreme Legislation Committee, Dubai Courts, Dubai Customs, ENOC, the University of Dubai, Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University and the Higher Colleges of Technology.

Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and President of the Dubai Press Club, signed the agreements alongside representatives of the participating institutions.

Several of the partnerships are linked to the Dubai Content Creators Programme, which aims to equip young creators with specialised knowledge in areas such as safety, law, customs and retail.

Under the programme, participating institutions will provide sector-specific expertise to help content creators transform complex technical information into accessible and engaging public content.

Al Marri said the partnerships would contribute to developing long-term capabilities while strengthening cooperation between media organisations and other sectors.

Academic representatives also highlighted the importance of connecting education with the rapidly changing media industry, particularly as artificial intelligence and digital platforms continue to influence content creation and consumption.

The agreements form part of Dubai’s wider efforts to strengthen cooperation between media, government and academic institutions and further develop its position as a global centre for media, content creation and innovation.
