Humidity, fog and mist are also expected in parts of the country over the coming days
Dubai, August 28, 2026 — Parts of the United Arab Emirates could experience rainfall on Friday as clouds develop over the eastern and southern parts of the country, while temperatures are expected to soar to 48°C in some inland areas.
According to the weather forecast, conditions will generally remain fair to partly cloudy, although convective clouds may form during the afternoon and bring rain to some eastern and southern areas.
Humidity is expected to increase overnight and into Saturday morning, particularly over western parts of the UAE. The rise in moisture could lead to mist and fog in some coastal areas, while motorists may experience reduced visibility in affected locations.
Winds are forecast to be light to moderate, blowing mainly from the southeast to northeast at speeds of between 10 and 25km/h. They could occasionally become stronger, reaching up to 35km/h along the coast and 40km/h over inland and mountainous areas, with blowing dust possible in exposed locations.
Temperatures will remain extremely high across much of the country. Inland areas are expected to record highs of between 43°C and 48°C, while coastal and island areas could see temperatures ranging from 39°C to 45°C. Mountainous areas will be considerably cooler, with temperatures expected to range between 30°C and 37°C.
Sea conditions are forecast to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
Rain chances continue into the weekend
The possibility of convective clouds and rainfall will continue into Saturday, particularly over eastern areas during the afternoon. Humid conditions are also expected overnight and into Sunday morning across some coastal locations.
Winds could again strengthen to around 40km/h, potentially causing blowing dust and reducing visibility in open areas.
On Sunday, the weather is expected to remain fair to partly cloudy, with clouds developing over eastern parts of the country during the afternoon. Increasing humidity overnight could bring a chance of mist to some coastal areas by Monday morning.
Fog and rain possible early next week
The likelihood of fog or mist will increase on Monday morning, particularly in some coastal areas. Convective clouds may develop over eastern parts of the UAE during the afternoon, bringing another chance of rainfall.
Winds could reach 40km/h, with dust being stirred up in some areas. Sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf could become slight to moderate, while the Oman Sea is expected to remain slight.
By Tuesday, further convective cloud development over eastern parts of the country could bring additional rainfall. Humidity is expected to remain elevated overnight and into Wednesday morning, potentially producing fog or mist across some coastal and inland areas.
Winds may reach 40km/h on Tuesday and strengthen over the sea, with the Arabian Gulf potentially becoming rough at times in western areas.
