DUBAI-July 30, 2026 – A couple and their two-year-old child were killed after United States forces carried out an airstrike on a residential building on Iran’s Qeshm Island, according to Iranian media reports.
Rescue teams were seen clearing rubble in search of additional victims following the attack. Explosions were also reported on Kish Island, in Bushehr Province, and at four separate locations in Khuzestan Province, a region that is central to Iran’s oil industry.
The strikes come amid rapidly escalating tensions in the Middle East after US President Donald Trump threatened further military action against Iran following an attack on a US military base in Jordan.
Meanwhile, Iraq strongly condemned the joint US-Saudi military strikes on targets within its territory. Iraq’s Popular Mobilisation Forces (PMF) said 20 of its fighters were killed and 32 others wounded in the attacks. Iranian officials also reported that four Iranian nationals lost their lives.
In the Gaza Strip, Israeli forces reportedly killed two Palestinians and injured more than a dozen others despite an existing US-brokered ceasefire, raising fresh concerns over the stability of the truce and the risk of a wider regional conflict.
If you’d like, I can also rewrite it in the style of Reuters, Associated Press (AP), or a Daily Times front-page news article.
