DUBAI – flydubai will resume direct flights between Dubai International Airport and Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport from July 31, restoring a key non-stop air link between the United Arab Emirates and Hungary.
The reinstated service is expected to strengthen business, tourism and family travel while providing passengers with convenient access to Dubai and flydubai’s growing network of more than 120 destinations.
The Budapest route, first launched in 2021, has become an important part of the airline’s expansion strategy in Central and Eastern Europe.
flydubai Chief Executive Officer Ghaith Al Ghaith said the resumption reflects the airline’s long-term commitment to the Hungarian market and highlights the growing economic and cultural ties between the two countries.
He described Budapest as one of flydubai’s most important European destinations.
Divisional Senior Vice President for Commercial Operations and E-commerce Jeyhun Efendi said the return of the service comes ahead of the busy autumn and winter travel season, creating new opportunities for tourism and business travel.
He added that the route operates under flydubai’s codeshare partnership with Emirates, offering passengers seamless connections to destinations across the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Southeast Asia.
The Budapest service is part of flydubai’s continued network expansion. The airline has recently launched flights to Aleppo in Syria, Bangkok in Thailand and Benghazi in Libya, and is scheduled to begin services to Pokhara, Nepal, on September 23.
