Dubai: The UAE has clarified the conditions for its five-year multiple-entry tourist visa, confirming that visitors of all nationalities can apply without requiring a sponsor or host.
The visa, issued on a self-sponsored basis, remains valid for five years and allows holders to enter and exit the UAE multiple times during that period. Travellers may stay for up to 90 days on each visit, with the option to extend the stay for an additional 90 days. The total time spent in the UAE, however, must not exceed 180 days in any one year.
The long-term visa is aimed at tourists, frequent travellers, family visitors, and business travellers who regularly visit the UAE and require greater flexibility than standard tourist visas.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must provide:
- A valid passport with at least six months’ validity
- A recent personal photograph
- Proof of valid health insurance
- A confirmed round-trip ticket
- Bank statements covering the previous six months
In addition, applicants must show a minimum bank balance of US$4,000 (or equivalent) maintained during the six months preceding the application.

The process involves selecting the required service, completing the application form, uploading supporting documents, and paying the applicable fees.

The total application cost is Dh3,713, which includes visa fees, service charges, and a refundable financial guarantee. Final costs may vary depending on individual circumstances.
Visa holders are responsible for monitoring their stay to ensure they do not exceed the permitted period. Entry and exit records can be checked through the UAE’s travel movement report system to avoid overstaying penalties.
