The United States has carried out a new wave of strikes against Iran, while Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claims it launched retaliatory attacks on US military installations across the Gulf region.

US Central Command said its latest operations against Iranian targets had concluded, as Iranian media reported explosions in several southern cities, on islands off Iran’s coast, and clashes involving US and Iranian forces in the Strait of Hormuz.

The IRGC said it targeted American military assets in Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan overnight, claiming heavy damage to the headquarters of the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain. US officials have not confirmed the extent of any damage.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump warned that military action against Iran would continue “until I say enough”, adding that possible targets could include power plants and bridges.

The United States has also reinstated its blockade on Iranian ports, while Trump reversed plans to impose a 20 percent tariff on vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global energy and shipping route.

The developments mark a significant escalation in tensions between Washington and Tehran, raising concerns over regional security and the safety of commercial shipping in the Gulf.
