Portugal superstar Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice as Al-Nassr clinched the 2025/26 Saudi Pro League title with a commanding 4-1 victory over Damac FC on Thursday night.
The victory sealed Al-Nassr’s long-awaited league triumph on the final day of the season, finishing just two points ahead of fierce rivals Al Hilal.
Ronaldo, 41, delivered another memorable performance when his trademark free-kick found the back of the net in the 63rd minute before adding a powerful close-range strike nine minutes from time to secure the title.
The Portuguese captain became emotional during the closing stages as he celebrated his first major domestic trophy since winning the Italian Serie A title with Juventus FC in 2020.
Having already conquered leagues in England, Spain and Italy, Ronaldo has now added the Saudi Pro League crown to his glittering collection, alongside five UEFA Champions League titles.
The football icon joined Al-Nassr in January 2023 following his departure from Manchester United, a move that transformed Saudi football and paved the way for several global stars, including Neymar and Karim Benzema, to move to the kingdom.
Ronaldo’s influence has extended far beyond the pitch, helping boost global attention on Saudi Arabia’s football ambitions and sporting investments ahead of the 2034 FIFA World Cup, which the country will host.
The veteran forward also finished the season as one of the league’s leading scorers, taking his incredible career tally to 973 goals — edging closer to the historic 1,000-goal milestone.
Next up for Ronaldo is the 2026 FIFA World Cup, after being named in Portugal’s squad for what will be his sixth appearance at football’s biggest tournament.
