DUBAI-Authorities in Dubai have unveiled a comprehensive security and traffic management plan ahead of Eid Al Adha, deploying more than 1,600 patrols alongside helicopters, marine units, and emergency response teams to ensure a safe and smooth holiday period across the emirate.

The Dubai Event Security Committee confirmed that preparations have been finalised, with intensified security measures targeting major mosques, Eid prayer grounds, highways, tourist attractions, shopping centres, and busy public markets expected to attract large crowds during the celebrations.

Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Assistant Commandant for Operations Affairs and Chairman of the committee, said the operation is designed to improve public safety, ease traffic congestion, and maintain efficient movement across the city in coordination with the Roads and Transport Authority.

The large-scale deployment includes 1,642 security patrols, 37 land rescue units, 29 marine security boats, two helicopters, and six dedicated operations rooms. Authorities have also established 160 ambulance response points supported by 208 Civil Defence vehicles, bicycle patrols, marine rescue teams, and specialised emergency units.

To manage the anticipated increase in travel during Eid, Dubai has expanded transportation services with 106 trains, 14,500 taxis, 18,500 limousines, 1,400 public buses, and 55 marine transport services operating throughout the holiday.

Officials confirmed that the Command and Control Centre will remain operational 24 hours a day to handle emergency situations and coordinate rapid response efforts. Residents and visitors have been urged to contact 999 for emergencies and 901 for non-emergency assistance, while violations can also be reported through the “Police Eye” feature on the Dubai Police smart application.

Authorities also issued several public safety advisories, urging motorists to obey speed limits and avoid reckless driving. Jet ski operators were warned to stay away from crowded beach areas to prevent accidents.

Families have been encouraged to closely supervise children in busy public areas, beaches, and swimming pools, while officials warned against the use of fireworks due to the risks of injuries and fires.

As part of the Eid festivities, recreational and entertainment programmes will also be organised for workers in Jebel Ali, Al Satwa, Al Muhaisnah, and Al Quoz. Sports competitions and cultural activities are scheduled to run from 6pm to midnight during the first two days of Eid.

Authorities stressed that public cooperation will play a critical role in ensuring a peaceful, safe, and enjoyable Eid Al Adha celebration across Dubai.
