Hundreds of mothers, Emirati women and community members gathered at Umm Suqeim Park for a national community march organised by the Community Development Authority (CDA) in Dubai, celebrating the role of Emirati women in shaping generations and building a cohesive society.
Titled ‘Generation Shapers Proud of UAE’, the event was held as part of the ‘Proud of UAE’ campaign launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to strengthen national identity and social cohesion across the country.
Her Excellency Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director General of the CDA, attended the event and affirmed that Emirati women are essential partners in the nation’s development journey.
“Building a strong society begins with a conscious and cohesive family,”
she said, adding that the initiative reinforces Dubai’s ambition to be the world’s best city to live in, in line with the Dubai Social Agenda 33.
The march brought together a diverse cross-section of the community, including senior Emirati women, people of determination and their families, female volunteers and women-led teams, and representatives from women-focused government entities. Activities included entertainment and awareness competitions for mothers and children, alongside the distribution of UAE flags and commemorative gifts.
Emirati start-ups and small businesses participated voluntarily, adding a community-driven dimension to the event.
The initiative was delivered in partnership with Dubai Police, the Roads and Transport Authority, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, the Dubai Event Security Committee and Dubai Civil Defense, reflecting broad institutional support for national social programmes.
