The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned an attempted ballistic missile attack on Türkiye, which authorities say originated from Iran but was intercepted before reaching its target.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the government of the United Arab Emirates said the missile was destroyed by air defence systems operated under the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) before it could enter Turkish territory.
The UAE described the incident as a dangerous escalation and a violation of national sovereignty that threatens regional security and stability.
According to the ministry, expanding attacks to additional countries violates international legal and political norms and risks intensifying tensions across the region.
The UAE also reaffirmed its rejection of actions that undermine efforts to reduce conflict and called for restraint to prevent further escalation.
