The United Arab Emirates is set to host the next World Governments Summit from February 1 to 3, 2027, reinforcing its position as a global hub for government innovation and international collaboration.
Held under the guidance of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the summit will focus on advancing government development, strengthening global partnerships, and sharing best practices in governance.
Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the summit, said the event serves as a powerful platform enabling governments to drive transformation, unlock opportunities, and effectively respond to fast-changing global challenges. He emphasized its role in supporting sustainable growth and long-term societal stability.
The 2026 edition, which took place in Dubai from February 3 to 5, marked the largest leadership participation in the summit’s history. More than 6,250 delegates attended, including over 60 heads of state, 500 ministers, and representatives from more than 150 countries. The program featured 445 dialogue sessions, 25 global forums, and over 45 ministerial and high-level meetings.
The gathering also drew more than 700 CEOs, 87 Nobel laureates, and experts from over 80 international organizations. Discussions centered on global governance, community wellbeing, economic growth, the future of cities, and emerging global trends.
Among its key outcomes were the release of 36 strategic reports in collaboration with international knowledge partners and the third Global Ministers Survey, aimed at identifying development priorities and enhancing effective public policy. Al Gergawi underscored the increasing need for international cooperation as countries navigate rapid global transformations.
The World Governments Summit continues to stand as a leading global platform for collaboration, innovation, and collective action, shaping stronger governance systems and a more sustainable future for societies around the world.
