SHARJAH,) — The Sharjah Broadcasting Authority (SBA) is taking part in MIPCOM 2025 in Cannes, France, running until 16th October, as part of efforts to expand its international reach and stay abreast of the latest trends in the media industry.
The annual event brings together over 10,500 leaders from global broadcasting and television platforms. During the exhibition, SBA held a series of strategic meetings with content production and distribution companies, resulting in several significant new agreements and partnerships.
Key deals include the acquisition of the Jordanian drama series Desert Foxes, produced by Issam Hajawi, set to air on Al Wousta Channel during the upcoming Ramadan season; an agreement with the Belgian rights holder of The Smurfs to stream the iconic series on SBA’s Maraya digital platform; and a screening deal with Lebanon’s Falcon Films.
SBA also engaged with organisations specialising in cultural and documentary production, selecting content that combines culture, information, and entertainment to align with audience preferences and enhance its diverse programming portfolio.
