Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has reported significant improvements in taxi services, passenger comfort, and operational standards following the implementation of 28 development initiatives in 2025.

The measures, targeting drivers, passengers, and franchise operators, are part of RTA’s ongoing efforts to provide safe, comfortable, and sustainable mobility across the emirate.

Adel Shakri, Director of Planning and Business Development at RTA’s Public Transport Agency, said the completion rate of the initiatives reached 89.8% by the end of the third quarter, with several high-impact projects still underway.

“These initiatives align with Dubai’s Smart City objectives and the vision of our leadership,”
he added.

Key measures include deploying advanced sensors to monitor in-vehicle air quality in real time, enhancing operational monitoring systems, and upgrading driver uniforms with weather-appropriate fabrics. RTA has also introduced annual incentive and reward programs worth over AED 8 million for drivers and franchise companies.

Passenger comfort received particular attention, with taxis now featuring leather seat upholstery for improved cleanliness and maintenance, air fresheners for a pleasant journey, and systems linking trip evaluations directly to RTA monitoring platforms to support continuous service improvement.

The RTA’s strategy reflects its commitment to raising service standards, integrating innovative solutions, and ensuring a seamless, comfortable travel experience for residents and visitors across Dubai.
