Diplomatic sources said Hamas’s negotiating team is reviewing US President Donald Trump’s 20-point plan aimed at ending Israel’s war on Gaza.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed his government’s acceptance of the proposal during a joint news briefing with Trump at the White House, even as Israeli forces intensified strikes on the Gaza Strip, killing at least 39 people on Monday.

Palestinians in Gaza have voiced concerns over the plan, questioning the scope and structure of a proposed international stabilisation force for the besieged enclave.

The initiative has been welcomed by several nations, including Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Egypt, Italy, France and the United Kingdom, as well as the Palestinian Authority.

Israel’s war on Gaza has killed at least 66,055 people and wounded 168,346 since October 2023, with thousands more feared trapped beneath rubble. The conflict began after the October 7, 2023, Hamas-led attacks, in which 1,139 people were killed in Israel and about 200 taken captive.
