A blanket of thick fog covered several parts of the UAE on Wednesday morning, prompting red and yellow weather alerts from the National Center of Meteorology (NCM). Visibility in some areas dropped below 1,000 meters.
In Abu Dhabi, fog developed over Al Falah, Al Riyad City, Bani Yas, Al Shawamekh, as well as along the Abu Dhabi–Dubai and Abu Dhabi–Al Ain roads. In Dubai, fog was reported over Al Jaddaf, Al Aweer, Expo City, and Khalifa Tower.
Abu Dhabi Police issued a warning on X, urging motorists to drive cautiously and adhere to speed limits displayed on electronic boards. The speed reduction system was activated, lowering limits to 80 km/h on the Abu Dhabi–Al Ain road between Al Muhairi Tunnel and Al Khaznah.
Meanwhile, temperatures dropped as forecast earlier this week, with early morning readings ranging between 30°C and 35°C in coastal areas such as Dubai and Sharjah. The Arabian Gulf is expected to be rough to very rough at times, while the Oman Sea will remain slight to moderate.
