UAE weather: Red, yellow alerts issued for thick fog; temperatures to rise

Temperatures in Abu Dhabi are likely to see a high of 41°C and a low of 27°C, while in Dubai, it will be 40°C with a low of 28°C

The weather in the UAE today will be fair in general and partly cloudy at times, according to the forecast by the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

The met department said that it will get partly cloudy at times eastward and there will be an increase in temperatures.

The NCM also issued red and yellow alerts for thick fog in some parts of the country. Residents can expect a drop in horizontal visibility, which may drop even further at times over some western internal areas from 1am until 8am on Monday.

Weather conditions are likely to get humid by night and Tuesday morning over some coastal and internal areas, with a probability of mist formation.

There will be light to moderate northwesterly winds, freshening at times, causing blowing dust during daytime, with a speed of 10kmph and 25kmph, reaching 40kmph.

The sea will be slight to moderate, becoming rough at times in the Arabian Gulf and moderate to slight in Oman Sea.

Temperatures in Abu Dhabi are likely to see a high of 41°C and a low of 27°C, while in Dubai, it will be 40°C with a low of 28°C.

Sharjah will witness a high of 42°C and a low of 28°C.
