Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has reported a 16% surge in digital revenues for 2024, reaching AED4.427 billion. This marks a significant leap from last year, reflecting the RTA’s successful digital transformation efforts.
The increase in digital transactions has been substantial, with 679.6 million transactions recorded across various channels. Of these, 13.4 million were processed through RTA’s smart apps. App downloads rose by 18%, totaling 3.742 million, while registered users on RTA platforms grew by 27.5%, reaching 1.94 million. The rise in parking ticket issuances via smart applications also saw a 24% increase, totaling 29.973 million.
Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General of RTA, expressed his satisfaction with the results, highlighting the RTA’s dedication to enhancing services through cutting-edge technologies. He emphasized the ongoing integration of AI in traffic management, data analysis, and self-driving mobility as key elements of Dubai’s broader digital transformation. Customer satisfaction across RTA’s digital services reached 96%.
The authority has also launched new features such as the revamped S’hail app, now offering a 39% increase in transactions. Additionally, RTA’s Mahboub Chatbot, powered by generative AI, now provides 100% AI-driven responses in both Arabic and English.
These initiatives are part of RTA’s broader strategy to position Dubai as the world’s smartest city. By incorporating AI, automating services, and fostering partnerships with the private sector, RTA aims to continuously enhance the city’s digital infrastructure and quality of life for residents and visitors alike.
