RTA Launches 20 Ramadan Initiatives to Promote Charity and Community Spirit
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is ushering in the holy month of Ramadan with 20 diverse initiatives aimed at fostering unity, generosity, and community engagement.
These activities, taking place at RTA’s headquarters, metro stations, and marine transport hubs, aim to bring joy to a wide range of people, including employees, volunteers, and those in need, such as people of determination, orphans, and low-income individuals.
Abdullah Al Ali, CEO of RTA’s Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector, emphasized that this year’s initiatives align with the UAE leadership’s vision for 2025 to be ‘The Year of Community.’
“RTA aims to support various segments of society, both locally and internationally, reflecting our core values of tolerance and collaboration,”
he said.
The events include the ‘Iftar Saem’ initiative, launched in collaboration with Beit Al Khair Society, and the ‘Meals on Wheels’ initiative. These programs benefit bus drivers, delivery riders, truck drivers, and workers in labour accommodations and abra commuters. The RTA will distribute 5,000 Iftar meals at metro stations, alongside symbolic gifts for labourers.
A special highlight is the ‘Ramadan Rations’ initiative, to be launched on Zayed Humanitarian Workday, commemorating the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. This program will provide low-income families with essential food supplies using nol cards.
In addition, 15 engaging activities have been planned for RTA employees, including communal Iftars, support for low-income staff, and the distribution of clothing and food supplies, ensuring a positive atmosphere for all during this blessed month.
