Majid Al Futtaim and UAE Food Bank Partner for Ramadan Meal Distribution Initiative
In a powerful display of community support and food security, the UAE Food Bank and Majid Al Futtaim have joined forces this Ramadan to provide over 3,300 meals daily.
This collaboration aims to further strengthen the UAE’s food security ecosystem and aligns with Carrefour’s commitment to supporting local communities.
As part of this initiative, Carrefour will contribute an in-kind donation of meat and grocery items essential for meal preparation. To streamline this process, the UAE Food Bank has partnered with Taya Art Production, a company under the Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for SME Development. Taya Art will not only help prepare the meals but also produce a Ramadan television series, highlighting culinary processes and innovative methods for repurposing surplus food to minimize waste—a goal shared by both Carrefour and the UAE Food Bank.
The prepared meals will be distributed daily across key locations in the UAE, including to workers through Carrefour’s ‘Care Vans.’ These mobile units will also provide dates and water at traffic signals, bus stops, and metro stations, ensuring commuters can break their fast even on the go. Carrefour volunteers will be actively involved in this distribution effort.
