On day 341 of the Israel war on Gaza, world leaders have condemned Israel after it bombed the so-called Al-Mawasi “safe-zone” in southern Gaza, killing at least 19 people and wounding 60 others. The toll is expected to rise.
A probe by Al Jazeera’s Sanad agency found that Israel likely used the US-made MK 84 bombs in the attack. Gaza officials said the 2,000 pound weapons “melted” the bodies of the victims who were in the eye of the attack.
The campaign to vaccinate Gaza’s children against the polio virus is continuing in northern parts of the enclave “against all odds”, including Israeli soldiers firing at United Nations health workers and ramming their vehicles with a bulldozer, according to the head of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA).
At least 41,020 people have been killed and 94,925 wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza. In Israel, the number of those killed in the Hamas-led attacks on October 7 is at least 1,139, while more than 200 people were taken captive.
