UAEV to Introduce Standardised EV Charging Tariffs, Innovative Features from January 2025
UAEV, the UAE’s first government-owned electric vehicle (EV) charging network, has announced the adoption of standardised EV charging tariffs set by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, effective January 2025.

This initiative underscores UAEV’s commitment to advancing sustainable transportation and aligns with the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 Strategy.

The new tariffs will charge EV users 1.2 DHS/kWh + VAT for DC chargers and 0.70 DHS/kWh + VAT for AC chargers, providing transparent and consistent pricing. Notably, EV charging services have remained free since the tariffs were introduced in May 2024.

To enhance the user experience, UAEV is launching a mobile app that offers features such as locating charging stations, live updates, and easy payments. Additionally, a 24/7 call center will provide continuous support, ensuring seamless service for EV drivers.

“This marks a transformative step in the UAE’s journey towards sustainable transportation,”
said Sharif al Olama, Chairman of UAEV.

“The implementation of standardised tariffs and innovative solutions like the UAEV app reflect our commitment to enhancing the EV driver experience and supporting the UAE’s green transition.”
By 2030, UAEV plans to deploy 1,000 chargers across urban areas, highways, and transit hubs, ensuring widespread accessibility for inter-city and intra-city users. The network will also feature high-speed charging and real-time monitoring to promote reliability and efficiency.

As a key enabler of sustainable transport, UAEV continues to advocate for green mobility by delivering integrated, user-focused charging solutions. These initiatives further the UAE’s vision of a cleaner, greener future.
