UAE: Yellow alert issued for dust till 5pm, authorities warn of low visibility
Residents in the UAE on Wednesday will get some relief from the intense summer heat, with rain likely in parts of the country, National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said.
According to the weather department, conditions on Wednesday will be fair to partly cloudy, with a chance of convective clouds forming eastward by the afternoon, possibly bringing rainfall.
However, despite the possibility of showers in some areas, temperatures will remain high across much of the country. The mercury is expected to reach a scorching 49ºC in Abu Dhabi’s Al Quaa, Razeen, and Mezaira. Dubai is forecast to hit 46ºC, while Abu Dhabi will see highs of 47ºC.

Temperatures will drop to a low of 33ºC in Abu Dhabi and 35ºC in Dubai.
Authorities have issued a dust alert in Abu Dhabi, with police asking motorists to be vigilant on roads due to reduced visibility. Drivers were also urged to avoid using their phones to record videos.
The UAE’s Met Department issued a yellow alert till 5pm, saying that blowing dust and sand will reduce visibility to less than 2,000m from 8.45am.
Winds will shift from southeasterly to northwesterly, remaining light to moderate at speeds of 10–25kmph, but could reach up to 40kmph, stirring blowing dust in some areas.
The Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea will experience slight sea conditions.
