The United Arab Emirates has issued a strong warning that attacks on energy infrastructure, particularly those linked to the South Pars gas field, pose a serious risk to global energy security.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs described such actions as a “dangerous escalation.” The South Pars field, located in southern Iran and extending into Qatar’s North Field, is one of the world’s most important sources of natural gas. Any disruption to its operations could have far-reaching consequences for regional stability and global energy supplies.
The UAE stressed that targeting energy facilities not only threatens supply chains but also raises significant environmental concerns. It warned that such attacks could endanger civilian lives, disrupt maritime navigation, and damage critical industrial and civil infrastructure.
Authorities called for the protection of vital energy assets under all circumstances and urged all parties to respect international law. The statement also reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to maintaining regional security and stability, cautioning that continued escalation could have serious implications for global markets and the broader international community.
