UAE Minister of Foreign Trade Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi has reinforced the nation’s growing economic partnership with Hungary during an official visit to Budapest, where he met senior government officials and business leaders to expand trade and investment opportunities.

Al Zeyoudi held talks with Péter Szijjártó, Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, and Gergely Karácsony, Mayor of Budapest, focusing on boosting private sector collaboration and advancing shared goals of sustainable growth and innovation.

Trade between the two countries has seen strong momentum, with non-oil foreign trade reaching US$793.7 million in 2024 and surpassing US$434.2 million in the first half of 2025, marking a 29.4% year-on-year increase.

As part of his visit, Al Zeyoudi attended a reception at the UAE Embassy in Budapest, joined by leading figures from Hungary’s business community. Discussions centered on potential partnerships in renewable energy, technology, logistics, and construction.

The visit builds on recent high-level exchanges and the UAE-Hungary Economic Cooperation Agreement signed in 2024, which laid the foundation for deeper collaboration across industry, tourism, infrastructure, and investment. Both sides expressed confidence that the strengthening ties will generate new opportunities for economic growth and private sector engagement.
