UAE Recognised as Premier Destination for Hosting Global Golf Tournaments: DP World Tour Official
Tom Phillips, Middle East Director for the DP World Tour, praised the UAE as an ideal location for hosting prestigious golf tournaments, citing its robust collaboration between stakeholders and the global tour. Highlighting the country’s role in international golf, Phillips noted the UAE will host five major tournaments in 2025, including three Rolex Series events, final qualifying rounds in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and the ‘Team Cup’ at Abu Dhabi Golf Club from January 10 to 12.
The Emirates Golf Club will host the Hero Dubai Desert Classic from January 16 to 19, 2025. The ‘Team Cup,’ featuring European and Great Britain-Ireland teams, is seen as a key preparation for the Ryder Cup in New York.
Phillips also observed a growing diversity among audiences at UAE golf events and emphasised the importance of the Emirates Golf Federation’s efforts in promoting golf at the national level.
