ABU DHABI: — The President of the United Arab Emirates has welcomed the announcement of the first phase of a ceasefire agreement in Gaza. The UAE commended President Trump’s prominent and pivotal role in facilitating the breakthrough and called on all parties to urgently build on this momentum to end the devastating conflict and restore peace and stability in the Gaza Strip.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) expressed the UAE’s deep appreciation for President Trump’s significant efforts, and praised the steadfast mediation roles played by the State of Qatar, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Republic of Türkiye, which were instrumental in reaching this agreement.
The UAE expressed hope that this development will mark a positive turning point toward alleviating the humanitarian suffering in the Gaza Strip and lay the foundation for a just and lasting settlement that guarantees the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people while enhancing regional security and stability.
The Ministry emphasized the importance of building on this progress by ensuring that all parties fully adhere to the terms of the agreement, exercise maximum restraint, and take concrete steps to resume a comprehensive political process. Such efforts, it said, should aim at achieving the two-state solution and ensuring lasting peace, security, and stability for all peoples of the region.
Reaffirming the UAE’s unwavering position, the Ministry underscored the country’s strong support for all regional and international initiatives aimed at de-escalating tensions and advancing a just and comprehensive peace. It also highlighted the urgent need to guarantee the sustainable, safe, and unhindered delivery of humanitarian, relief, and medical assistance to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
