ABU DHABI, :UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has reviewed the design and master plan for the state-of-the-art Al Jazira Club Stadium, set to rise in Zayed City.
The new stadium will initially accommodate 24,000 spectators, with the capacity to expand to 30,000. Construction is scheduled to commence in 2026 under the supervision of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court. The project is expected to be completed within three years.
Designed to reflect the UAE’s commitment to developing world-class sports infrastructure, the stadium aims to enhance community well-being, empower youth, and drive innovation — strengthening the sports sector as a pillar of national development.
The venue will feature fully air-conditioned seating and a retractable pitch that can slide out of the main arena. It will also offer premium hospitality services, as well as restaurants and lounges accessible beyond event times.
Built to host a variety of activities year-round, the stadium will be a hub for sports tournaments, national celebrations, and public gatherings.
The project briefing, held at Qasr Al Bahr, was attended by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region; Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology; Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the President’s Office for Strategic Affairs and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office; Khaldoon Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority; and several senior officials.
