UAE, Poland Explore New Areas of Trade, Economic Cooperation
Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, led a UAE delegation to Warsaw this week to meet with senior Polish government officials and explore new avenues for deepening trade and economic cooperation between the two nations.
The visit follows a recent trip to the UAE by Poland’s President, Andrzej Duda, and aims to build on the joint economic collaboration program initiated in 2022, which fosters business partnerships, capital exchange, and knowledge sharing.
Al Zeyoudi’s discussions with key figures, including Wojciech Kolarski, Head of the International Policy Department of the President’s Office, focused on strengthening diplomatic ties and expanding trade opportunities. Meetings with Adam Szłapka, Minister for European Affairs, emphasized boosting bilateral trade, while talks with officials from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Digital Affairs centered on renewable energy, agriculture, and advanced technology in the financial sector.
Al Zeyoudi highlighted the UAE’s strategic location as a global business hub connecting Asia, Africa, and Europe, noting that Poland’s infrastructure, including key ports, offers valuable access to European markets. He underscored the UAE’s commitment to economic diversification and collaboration in sectors like manufacturing, renewable energy, and agriculture.
Trade turnover between the UAE and Poland reached US$2.2 billion in 2024, with the UAE’s direct investments in Poland totaling US$180 million by the end of 2023. Polish FDI in the UAE amounted to US$272 million in 2022, spanning various industries. The visit reflects the UAE’s continued efforts to position itself as a global leader in trade while strengthening ties with European partners.
