Abu Dhabi: The UAE has announced the commencement of operations at the Wam border crossing in Dibba Al Fujairah, connecting the UAE and Oman, effective Wednesday, February 26.
The new border post is set to enhance connectivity, facilitating smoother travel between the two countries and easing movement for citizens and travellers alike.
Covering an area of 1 million square meters, the border post consists of 19 buildings.
Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, Director General of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Ports Security, confirmed that the operational phase of the border post began on Wednesday. He emphasised that the new facility is designed to promote ease of travel and strengthen trade relations between the UAE and Oman.
Omani authorities have also announced the opening of the Dibba Border Crossing in Musandam, connecting the Sultanate of Oman with the UAE. This move is part of broader security management efforts for land borders, airports, and seaports to facilitate smoother movement.
Authorities have urged travelers to ensure they follow all required travel procedures and have the necessary documentation when using the newly operational border crossing.
