Dubai: Parts of Abu Dhabi experienced thick fog and low visibility early Saturday morning, prompting warnings from Abu Dhabi Police and the National Center of Meteorology (NCM). Motorists were advised to drive carefully and adhere to the changing speed limits displayed on electronic signboards to avoid accidents.

According to the NCM, fog formed between 5:45 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. on October 11, significantly reducing horizontal visibility, especially over some coastal and inland western areas.

“#Urgent | #Attention #Fog — Abu Dhabi Police call on motorists to exercise caution due to reduced visibility. Drive safely and follow changing speed limits,” Abu Dhabi Police posted on X (formerly Twitter).

Authorities Monitoring Situation Closely

The National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA), working with the NCM, the Ministry of Interior, and other partners, is closely tracking the shifting weather patterns.

Forecasters warn that the UAE will face unstable weather starting Friday, lasting through the middle of next week. Northern, eastern, and western regions, as well as some inland areas, are expected to experience convective clouds, rainfall, strong winds, and blowing dust, which may further reduce visibility.

Sea conditions in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman are expected to be rough with higher waves.

Authorities have urged residents to stay updated through official channels, avoid flood-prone areas, and take all necessary safety precautions.
