The initiative aims to reshape the country’s intellectual property landscape and strengthen its appeal to global brands.
The launch event was held at the Ministry’s headquarters with Minister Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri and senior officials in attendance. The platform is designed to give trademark owners a secure digital space to list and trade their registered marks while connecting them with investors and entrepreneurs.
Bin Touq said the project reflects the UAE’s push toward a knowledge-driven economy and supports the development of new economic sectors. He added that TM Market Place allows intangible assets to gain fair valuation by exposing trademarks to a broader investor base and converting them into active economic resources.
According to the Minister, the platform will help SMEs and family businesses unlock the financial value of their brands. It will also make it easier for global investors to access ready-made or emerging UAE trademarks, reducing barriers to market entry and accelerating business growth.
The Ministry will oversee the platform to ensure full compliance with national and international IP standards. Only trademarks registered in the UAE will be eligible for trading, in line with Federal Decree-Law No. 36 of 2021. All transactions will require secure login and digital payment.
The UAE has seen notable momentum in trademark activity. From January to early November 2025, registrations reached 34,234. The first half of 2025 recorded a 129 per cent rise compared to the same period last year, highlighting the sector’s rapid expansion.
