The President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has shared a powerful message of gratitude, unity, and national pride as the nation celebrates its 54th National Day.

In a heartfelt address to citizens and residents, Sheikh Mohamed praised the collective efforts that continue to drive the UAE’s development, emphasising that the spirit of togetherness remains the foundation of the country’s progress.

“To the people of the UAE, both citizens and residents alike, I congratulate you on the occasion of the 54th Eid Al Etihad and extend my sincere thanks for your contribution to our nation’s ongoing development,” he said. “Through our collective efforts, the unity of our families, and the strength of our society, the UAE’s journey of progress will continue. May God grant you, and the blessed land of Zayed, enduring prosperity and wellbeing.”

In his national address, the President highlighted the pivotal role of future generations in shaping the UAE’s next chapter of innovation and advancement. He stressed that preserving the nation’s identity, values, and Arabic language is a shared national duty.

“Preserving our national identity, values, ethics, and Arabic language is a key national priority and an essential responsibility that must be upheld by every member of society,” he said, calling on educational, cultural, and social institutions to lead efforts in nurturing the moral and ethical foundations of young people.

Sheikh Mohamed described December 2 as a defining milestone in the UAE’s history — a day that continues to unite the nation in pride and purpose. Beyond celebration, he said, it is a time to reflect on the country’s journey and renew the commitment to building a future defined by excellence and vision.

“We renew our pledge — before God, to ourselves, and to our people — to continue working with sincerity and dedication to ensure that the UAE remains, just as the late Sheikh Zayed envisioned, a nation defined by excellence, progress, and a far-reaching sense of purpose.”

Dubai Ruler, Prime Minister, and Vice-President Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also issued a message marking the 54th National Day. He extended “heartfelt greetings and congratulations” to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, UAE rulers, and the nation’s people.

Reflecting on the UAE’s formation in 1971, Sheikh Mohammed honoured the founding fathers, noting how they presented the world with a “unique model of unity” that continues to define the nation’s enduring success.

The UAE’s 54th National Day celebrations continue with festivities across the country, including fireworks, cultural showcases, and major events such as the Sheikh Zayed Festival.
