UAE Approves Record AED 92.4 Billion Federal Budget for 2026
The UAE Cabinet has approved the country’s largest-ever federal budget for 2026, valued at AED92.4 billion, during a meeting held at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi.
The balanced budget underscores the UAE’s strong economic outlook and commitment to sustainable national development.
The 2026 budget marks a 29 percent increase in both revenues and expenditures compared to 2025, reflecting robust financial performance and steady growth across key sectors. It also includes the establishment of a Federal Financial Support Programme to enhance fiscal sustainability and institutional resilience.
Budget allocations include AED34.6 billion for social development and pensions, AED27.1 billion for government affairs, AED15.4 billion for financial investments, AED12.7 billion for federal expenses, and AED2.6 billion for infrastructure and economic development.
The Cabinet reviewed the outcomes of the National Agenda for Outbound Direct Investment, revealing cumulative UAE investments abroad reached AED1.05 trillion in 2024, a 9 percent rise from the previous year. The UAE also ranked first in the Arab world and among the top 20 globally in outbound investment.
Non-oil trade with target countries surged to AED952.6 billion in 2024, driven by the UAE Export Development Policy and multiple Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreements. The Cabinet further approved environmental initiatives, including a national groundwater valuation guideline and the UAE Biennial Transparency Report on greenhouse gas emissions, reaffirming the nation’s focus on sustainability and balanced growth.
