The Presidential Court declares Sunday, March 30, the first day of Eid Al Fitr in the UAE

Abu Dhabi: The Presidential Court has declared that tomorrow, Sunday, March 30, will mark the first day of Eid Al Fitr in the UAE, following the confirmed sighting of the Shawwal crescent this evening.

The announcement comes after the Moon-Sighting Committee, formed by the UAE Council For FATWA met at the historic Qasr Al Hosn in Abu Dhabi to sight the crescent of Shawwal. The committee confirmed the sighting of the crescent moon, officially declaring the end of Ramadan and the beginning of Shawwal 1446 AH.

Eid Al Fitr 2025: Prayer timings
In its statement, the Presidential Court extended warm congratulations to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, as well as to Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, and the Crown Princes. They also congratulated the UAE people and Muslims worldwide on this auspicious occasion.

With the confirmation, Sunday will mark a day of early morning prayers and nationwide celebrations, as the country joins the global Muslim community in concluding the month-long fast with family gatherings, charitable giving, and traditional festivities.
