Authorities in the United Arab Emirates have reassured residents and visitors that the situation remains under control after air defence systems successfully intercepted incoming missiles and drones reportedly launched from Iran.
According to the Ministry of Defence, the interceptions triggered emergency alerts across the country, with residents receiving mobile notifications advising them to stay in secure locations. Loud sounds reported in several areas were confirmed to be the result of air defence operations neutralising the threats.
A renewed safety alert has since been issued, emphasising the importance of continued vigilance. Authorities have urged the public to rely only on verified government sources for updates and to strictly follow all precautionary measures until further notice.
Earlier in the morning, at approximately 6:28am, air defence systems were activated in response to the incoming threats. Officials confirmed that all targets were successfully intercepted, and a follow-up alert was sent to reassure the public that the situation is currently safe.
In Dubai, authorities also confirmed that loud sounds heard around 2:04am were linked to successful interception operations. Residents were reminded to avoid spreading unverified information and to depend solely on official communication channels.
Officials have outlined key safety guidance for residents during such alerts. The public is advised to prioritise safety over recording or sharing content on social media, continue driving calmly without stopping abruptly, and seek secure shelter indoors until an official “all clear” is issued. Emergency services should only be contacted in genuine situations to keep lines open for critical needs.
