The UAE Accountability Authority (UAEAA) has signed two key agreements with the Offices of the Auditor General of Seychelles and Uganda to strengthen international collaboration in auditing and oversight.
The memoranda of understanding (MoUs) aim to enhance technical expertise, develop national capacities, and support sustainable economic development through more efficient control systems.
The agreements were signed today at the UAEAA headquarters in Abu Dhabi during official visits by delegations from both countries. The ceremony was attended by Humaid Obaid Abushibs, Chairman of the UAEAA, along with Gamini Herath, Auditor-General of Seychelles, and Edward Akol, Auditor General of Uganda.
The MoUs focus on exchanging institutional knowledge, fostering professional development, and implementing effective oversight practices that align with international standards. UAEAA highlighted that these partnerships are part of its broader strategy to expand global cooperation and strengthen the oversight framework in response to evolving governance and financial challenges.
By collaborating with Seychelles and Uganda, the UAEAA aims to ensure the optimal use of public resources while promoting transparency, accountability, and sustainable development. The agreements also reflect the UAE’s commitment to supporting other nations in building robust auditing and governance systems.
These partnerships reinforce the UAEAA’s role as a regional leader in public sector oversight and demonstrate its ongoing efforts to align domestic auditing practices with global best practices.
