Trade relations between Tanzania and UAE are set to be further cemented following the entry in to the market by a Tanzanian based company Kilimanjaro Flavours Limited (KFL), an agricultural company that seeks to supply the GCC market with high quality avocados.
Talking to Daily Times Newspaper last week in Dubai, the Manager Director of KFL, Dr Nathaniel M Kigwila said the move to enter the GCC market was meant to bridge the gap between Tanzania and the GCC through fostering a new era of agricultural trade and cooperation.
KFL, a renowned company has taken advantage of Tanzania’s fertile soil and favorable climate, to produce high quality avocados which are rich in both taste and nutritional value.
On entering the GCC market, the company’s International Marketing Manager, Mr Joseph Imwamu said KFL presents a lucrative opportunity for agricultural exporters to utilize owing to the region’s growing demand for healthy and exotic fruits.
He added that the company aims to satisfy the increasing consumer appetite for avocados, known for their versatility and health benefits.
As a clear sign of intent, KFL has put in place a blue print aimed at ensuring a successfully entry into the market by doing an extensive market research which is data-driven so as to align its flavours with the demands of the consumers.
The company has also inked partnerships and collaborations with various distributors and retailers.
Asked on Quality assurance and certification, the company emphasized that necessary steps had been taken so as to move within the legal framework of the GCC.
The entry of KLF into the GCC market is poised to have a positive economic and social impact not only for the company but also for Tanzania, as new revenue streams will be created while creating job opportunities.
For the GCC, the introduction of Tanzanian avocados will diversify the range of fresh produce available to consumers, promoting healthier eating habits and providing a sustainable food source.
