Sharjah Women’s Clubs triumph in Taekwondo championship

Sharjah Clubs from the Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation have marked another remarkable achievement by winning 23 medals in the Mohammed bin Hamad Ramadan Taekwondo Championship, held at Zayed Sports Complex in Fujairah on 22 March 2025. A total of 27 athletes participated from Sharjah Women’s Sports Club, Kalba Women’s Sports Club, and Khorfakkan Women’s Sports Club.

Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals for Sharjah Women’s Sports Club

Sharjah Women’s Sports Club excelled with gold medals won by Reem Youssef (under 29 kg), Hind Osama (under 44 kg), Maryam Jassim (under 51 kg), Rania Mohammed Al Nuaimi (under 55 kg), and Shama Mohammed (under 59 kg). In addition, Mahra Sid Al Zaabi secured silver in the over 59 kg category, Azza Osama achieved silver in the under 41 kg category, and Hoor Ali Al Zeyoudi also won silver in the under 33 kg category.

Kalba Women’s Sports Club and Khorfakkan Women’s Sports Club Shine
Kalba Women’s Sports Club stood out with Fatima Saad clinching gold in the over 59 kg category, while Dana Khamees, Moza Abdul Wahid, and Al Jazi Al Khaledi earned silver medals. Bronze medals were also won by Amina Jumaa, Fatima Ali Al Dhahani, Reem Khalfan, Jawaher Ali Al Zeyoudi, and Fatima Mohammed Al Khadeem.

Khorfakkan Women’s Sports Club also made a strong showing, with Maryam Suhail Al Hendasi, Hamda Mustafa Al Balushi, Fatima Saeed Al Watari, Roda Ali Al Kaabi, Rokia Al Sharari, and Haya Tamam earning bronze medals across various weight categories.

Significant Achievement Reflecting Excellence

Abdullah Hatem, Technical Director of Taekwondo, credited the athletes’ success to their rigorous training and well-structured preparation. He highlighted that the championship demonstrated their ability to manage pressure and thrive in competitive settings, boosting their confidence for upcoming events.

This achievement is part of the Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation’s broader vision to support and nurture athletic excellence in its clubs, creating an environment where female athletes can represent Sharjah and the UAE at national and international levels.
