The Sharjah Archaeology Authority has been awarded national certification for its Business Continuity Management System, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to operational resilience and institutional excellence.

The accreditation was granted under the UAE National Standard for Business Continuity Management Systems (AE/SCNS/NCEMA 7000:2021), issued by the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, after the Authority successfully met all required evaluation and governance criteria.

This achievement reflects the Authority’s ongoing efforts to improve efficiency, strengthen its ability to operate during disruptions, and integrate sustainability and preparedness into its overall framework.

According to Director-General Issa Yousif, the certification represents an important step toward building a culture of excellence and establishing a robust operational system capable of maintaining continuity under various conditions. He noted that the accomplishment aligns with the vision of Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi to create a sustainable and efficient environment that preserves and manages Sharjah’s cultural and archaeological heritage.

The Authority follows a structured approach grounded in global best practices, focusing on risk management, operational flexibility, and strong crisis response and recovery mechanisms.

Saeed bin Ya’roof Al Naqbi highlighted that the certification is the result of implementing a comprehensive business continuity system, including disaster recovery planning, management of critical services, and a governance framework designed to enhance preparedness.

The Authority also reaffirmed its commitment to developing its workforce through specialised training in crisis management, business continuity, and operational quality, ensuring continuous improvement and institutional awareness.

Overall, the certification reinforces the Authority’s dedication to protecting cultural heritage, maintaining service continuity, and strengthening Sharjah’s position as a model of sustainability and institutional excellence.
