Sharjah 24: Sheikha Asma bint Saqr Al Qasimi praised the efforts of Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) to support women through the Ramadan evening organised by the Authority at the house of Sheikh Saeed bin Hamad Al Qasimi in Kalba, entitled “Empowering Women”.
Sharjah Book Authority organised, on Saturday, a Ramadan evening entitled “Empowering Women” at the house of Sheikh Saeed bin Hamad Al Qasimi in Kalba, coinciding with International Women’s Day.
The evening was attended by Sheikha Asma bint Saqr Al Qasimi, in the presence of a number of directors and representatives of government departments and institutions, and a large crowd of women of society and citizens from the people of Kalba and the cities of the Eastern Region.
Sheikha Asma bint Saqr Al Qasimi praised the efforts of the Authority in organising the event, which she described as wonderful and diverse, praising the efforts of Sharjah government in supporting and working to empower Emirati women in various fields.
Specking exclusively to Sharjah 24, Sheikha Asma bint Saqr Al Qasimi added that the evening was distinguished by its rich presentation through the panel discussion, which addressed several aspects of the Emirati woman’s journey and her achievements, in addition to the accompanying exhibitions and the artistic evening of Al Sharq Choir, which entertained the audience with authentic Andalusian songs.
Moza Hanzsl, Programmes and Events Officer at SBA Office in the Eastern Region, said that the evening included an extended panel discussion for a number of influential women leaders in society, in addition to an accompanying exhibition of manuscripts from Juma Al Majid Centre, in addition to the traditional crafts exhibition of the “Lammat Baraka” team.
