Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) reported a significant 14% increase in public transport usage during the Eid Al-Adha holiday, with 7.577 million passengers recorded across various modes of transportation.
The surge highlights the growing reliance on Dubai’s integrated transit network during peak periods. The RTA attributed the rise to enhanced services and the availability of diverse transport options, including metro, tram, buses, marine transport, taxis, and shared vehicles.
Metro services saw the highest ridership, with 2.786 million passengers using the Red and Green Lines. Public buses followed with 1.663 million riders, while marine transport attracted 307,684 passengers.
Taxis remained a key component of the network, carrying 2.196 million people over the holiday. Meanwhile, 119,917 used the tram, and shared transportation services reported 504,159 riders.
The RTA’s figures reflect Dubai’s continued investment in efficient mobility solutions and its ability to meet the transport demands of residents and visitors during major holidays.
