Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has upgraded its Seasonal Marine Transport Network by integrating advanced data analysis and flexible technologies to better respond to fluctuating demand during holidays and major events.
The initiative, launching its summer season plan on May 2, uses predictive analytics and custom-built algorithms to assess big data from various sources. This allows the RTA to adjust service schedules, trip frequencies, and routes in real time based on passenger volumes, occupancy rates, and revenue trends.
Each season is analysed independently, with operational models tailored to forecast user behavior and optimize network performance. The data-driven approach not only improves operational efficiency but also aims to enhance customer satisfaction and reduce costs.
The initiative reflects the RTA’s commitment to corporate agility and global best practices in public transport. By simulating demand patterns and aligning services with user needs, the authority ensures marine transport remains a reliable, scalable, and responsive mode of travel across Dubai’s waterways.
