RTA Completes Major Traffic Upgrade at Al Wasl–Al Manara Intersection
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed key traffic improvement works at the busy Al Wasl Street and Al Manara Street intersection, aimed at easing congestion and boosting road capacity by 50%.
The project introduced a new lane for vehicles heading from Al Manara Street toward Sheikh Zayed Road and added a dedicated U-turn lane in the same direction. These upgrades have significantly improved traffic flow, reducing waiting times by up to 30%, and by as much as 35% for vehicles coming from Sheikh Zayed Road.
Part of RTA’s 2025 Traffic Improvement Plan, the initiative supports Dubai’s ongoing urban growth by upgrading infrastructure in residential zones. It aligns with broader efforts to improve road safety, streamline movement between internal districts, and enhance overall living standards.
Targeting key areas such as Jumeirah, Umm Suqeim, and Al Safa, the plan focuses on expanding road networks and improving connectivity along major corridors parallel to Sheikh Zayed Road.
