Record-Breaking 40,000+ Cyclists Kick Off Dubai Fitness Challenge 2025 with Dubai Ride Spectacle

Dubai — Sheikh Zayed Road was transformed into a vibrant cycling arena on Sunday as 40,327 riders took part in the Dubai Ride, marking a record-breaking start to the Dubai Fitness Challenge 2025.
Presented by DP World, the annual event united residents and visitors of all ages in a powerful display of fitness and community spirit, setting the pace for the month-long 30×30 initiative that encourages 30 minutes of daily exercise for 30 days.
Participants cycled past Dubai’s most famous landmarks — including the Museum of the Future, Burj Khalifa, and Dubai Water Canal — across two scenic routes: a 4km family-friendly loop in Downtown Dubai and a 12km Sheikh Zayed Road circuit for experienced riders.
Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council, said the record turnout reflected Dubai’s growing culture of active living and togetherness. Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, called the event “a true celebration of health, happiness, and community spirit.”
The event featured energetic performances from drummers, DJs, cheerleaders, and entertainers, while families enjoyed interactive zones and children’s activities. Elite cyclists tested their endurance in the 12km Speed Laps, maintaining impressive speeds of up to 30km/h.
Among the notable participants were fitness icons Kayla Itsines and Leana Deeb, human biologist Gary Brecka, and former footballer Bacary Sagna, all joining to inspire Dubai’s residents toward an active lifestyle.
The Dubai Fitness Challenge continues throughout November with major citywide events including Dubai Stand Up Paddle (Nov 8–9), Dubai Run (Nov 23), and the first-ever Dubai Yoga (Nov 30), alongside hundreds of fitness hubs and free workout sessions across the city.
