As Ramadan 2025 approaches, the UAE is preparing for a month of reflection, prayer, and community gatherings. This year, fasting hours will be shorter compared to 2024, with a range of 12 hours and 58 minutes to 13 hours and 41 minutes.

When Does Ramadan 2025 Start?
The crescent moon marking Shaaban was sighted on January 31. Ramadan is expected to begin on March 1, 2025, pending the official moon sighting.

Fasting Hours
First Day: 12 hours, 58 minutes
Mid-Ramadan: 13 hours, 13 minutes
Last Day: 13 hours, 41 minutes
These hours are slightly shorter than in 2024 when fasting ranged from 13 hours, 16 minutes to almost 14 hours.
School & Work Timings
Schools: Reduced by two hours, with some rescheduling or canceling exams.
Workplaces: Shortened hours for both government and private sectors.
Salik & Parking Updates
Salik Toll Rates:
Peak (9 AM – 5 PM): Dh6
Off-Peak (7–9 AM, 5 PM–2 AM): Dh4
Free: 2 AM–7 AM (Mon–Sat)
Sundays: Dh4 all day (7 AM–2 AM), free overnight.
Parking: Variable Parking Tariff Policy expected by end of March 2025, with Dh6/hour for premium spots and Dh4/hour for standard spaces. Free parking from 10 PM to 8 AM and on Sundays.
Eid Al Fitr Holidays
Eid could fall on March 30, 31, or April 1, potentially offering residents up to six consecutive days off, depending on moon sighting.

Hag El Laila: Celebrated on Shaaban 15 with children receiving treats.
Ramadan Souqs: Deira’s Grand Souq open till February 22, featuring stalls, entertainment, and workshops.
Iftar & Suhoor Tents: Across UAE for communal gatherings.
