His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, launched the “National Family Growth Agenda 2031” during the UAE Government Annual Meetings in Abu Dhabi, reaffirming the country’s commitment to strengthening family stability and Emirati values.
Sheikh Mohammed highlighted that the UAE’s cohesive society remains its greatest strength and the cornerstone of national success. He emphasized that supporting family growth is a vital national responsibility and an investment in the country’s future, praising the efforts of federal and local entities in shaping the agenda.
The launch was attended by several UAE leaders, including Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Sana bint Mohammed Suhail, Minister of Family, presented the agenda, describing it as a unified national vision that supports the UAE leadership’s directives to empower Emirati families as the foundation of social cohesion and national identity. The initiative aligns with the upcoming “Year of the Family 2026,” announced by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Developed in collaboration with more than 20 federal and local entities, the agenda focuses on three pillars: strengthening family identity, consolidating family foundations, and empowering families. Its key objectives include increasing Emirati birth and marriage rates while promoting family well-being through social, economic, and health support programs.
Suhail noted that the first phase will introduce initiatives addressing family-work balance, positive mindsets, reproductive health, and other forms of support to build a sustainable and prosperous Emirati society.
