Mohammed bin Rashid Directs Development of GITEX TechCation 2026 as World’s Largest Technology and AI Event
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has directed the development of GITEX TechCation 2026 into the world’s largest event dedicated to technology and artificial intelligence.
The initiative will be organised under the supervision of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai.
Set to run from 7 to 11 December 2026 at Expo City Dubai, GITEX TechCation will transform the city into a global destination for innovation, investment, and lifestyle. The event will unite leading technology companies, startups, investors, and innovators in a citywide celebration of creativity and digital advancement.
As part of the preparations, Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) signed a strategic partnership to promote and support the event. The collaboration, formalised between Issam Kazim, CEO of Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing, and Trixie LohMirmand, Executive Vice President of DWTC, will leverage Dubai’s extensive hospitality and cultural ecosystem to create immersive experiences for visitors.
GITEX TechCation aims to align with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, reinforcing the city’s position among the world’s top three global cities by 2033. The event also supports Dubai’s growing appeal as a hub for technology, investment, and tourism.
With Dubai consistently ranked among the world’s most visited cities and a top destination for foreign direct investment, GITEX TechCation is poised to redefine how the global tech community connects, collaborates, and experiences innovation.
