Five Indian nationals sustained minor to moderate injuries in Abu Dhabi after debris from an intercepted ballistic missile triggered fires near the Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD), authorities have confirmed.

Emergency response teams were swiftly deployed after two fire incidents broke out in the area, which is one of the emirate’s largest trade, logistics, and industrial hubs. Officials stated that the missile had been successfully intercepted by air defence systems, but falling debris caused the fires.

Specialised crews are currently working to contain the situation, with authorities assuring the public that developments are being closely monitored and further updates will follow.

Earlier in the day, multiple safety alerts were issued across the UAE as air defence systems intercepted missiles and drones launched from Iran. Residents reported hearing loud sounds, later confirmed by the Ministry of Defence as interception activity involving both ballistic and cruise missile threats.

Authorities have urged residents to remain calm, rely only on official sources for information, and avoid approaching or handling any debris. The public is also encouraged to report any suspicious objects or incidents to emergency services immediately.

Officials continue to emphasise public safety and preparedness as the situation evolves.
