The UAE Ministry of Finance held a high-level workshop in Dubai to strengthen national crisis management and forecasting capabilities, bringing together senior government officials and academic experts to sharpen emergency preparedness and strategic planning.
Led by Younis Haji AlKhoori, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, the event gathered assistant undersecretaries, department directors, and representatives from the American University of Sharjah. The workshop aimed to enhance institutional readiness and ensure proactive responses to future challenges.
AlKhoori highlighted the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to building a flexible and adaptive government. “We are moving forward with our efforts to instill a culture of readiness… ensuring sustainable service delivery,” he said, stressing the importance of swift, informed decision-making during crises.
Delivered by Professor Anis Samet, a risk management expert from the American University of Sharjah, the workshop featured three core sessions. The first focused on crisis types, communication strategies, and risk assessment. The second introduced advanced forecasting methods to support proactive planning. The final session offered hands-on simulations to apply forecasting and decision-making tools in high-pressure scenarios.
Participants also engaged in discussions with specialists and academics, sharing insights to enhance government responsiveness and resilience. The workshop supports the UAE’s broader strategy to build a future-ready public sector capable of navigating regional and global uncertainties.
